So when I turn the key to the on position briefly the starter engages. When turning the key to the start position it does not engage the starter unless you touch the gas pedal. Thought the starter motor on my old LX172 was in its final year--click, click, click almost every start-up. Started to order a new one when I read about this relay kit. I ordered it, installed it in less than 30 minutes, and now the old Deere starts right up. I purchased my tractor 4 months ago. Today as I was mowing my yard, when I wanted to stop, the brake would not engage and the tractor kept moving. When I tried to re-start the tractor, although the tractor was in park, the tractor began to move again. When, when you swapped connectors between the identical start and stop relays you moved the bad relay to the stop circuit so you could crank the engine but the bad relay (now in the stop solenoid circuit) prevented it from starting.
